This is the second part of a series I am putting together which will help document some of the great coaches I have had the good fortune to study with.
Why I first approached Sam…
Well, we kind of need to start in 2017, at the Play Fight camp in Tuscany. For those who don’t know, Play Fight is Bruno Caverna’s creation, and it is a fusion of many art forms that come to fruition in the form of a contemporary dance practice. It was during that event that I realised how versatile, agile and strong dancers are, and I wanted some of that magic!
Fast forward to 2018, I had the good fortune to be introduced to Sam via a mutual friend. In Sam I found that magic I was looking for. Sam is a person who embodies not only the grace of a dancer, but the strength of a weightlifter and the flexibility of a Yogi. He playfully puts it all together into a movement practice.
Why I recommend studying with Sam…
It is largely thanks to Sam that I was eventually able to unlock the handstand, massively improve my high bridge, unlock the low bridge and make huge progress in my range of motion and pistol squat.
If you're looking for someone with a huge knowledge base, ranging from human anatomy - Sam is also a superb massage therapist - to climbing, dance, strength training, parkour and acrobatics - to name but a few areas - Sam can help you build a solid foundation and from there progress your practice onwards to advanced levels. As a fellow coach, I find Sam’s pursuit of excellence and attention to detail both inspiring and courageous as Sam is not afraid to put himself out there and test training systems to the fullest.
If you’re interested in learning more about Sam’s training or upcoming events, I highly recommend checking out his webpage.
