David Lawrence, Certified L3 personal trainer, CIMSPA registered, BWLA level 2, UKA Level 1, Animal Flow Level 1. LTA Tennis Coach Level 1. England Boxing Level 1. Kettlebell Trainer. 11 years + working in the fitness industry.

I love seeing people build their strength, agility and vitality. My ideal day is helping people move with greater confidence and joy. I find a real sense of fulfilment when I see my students overcome a challenge and redefine themselves as stronger, more capable and confident because of the physical attainments they have developed through working together over time.

I look forward to sharing the lifetime of training, movement and sport that has shaped my practice over the last 11 years working in the fitness industry and has helped support the health of people from all walks of life.

  • David is an excellent personal trainer. His sessions are huge fun and the variety of exercises we do have improved my strength, flexibility and my body feels completely different. He is very professional, and he has years of experience working to achieve any goals you will have. David’s knowledge of the body and movement is very impressive, he is also very friendly and really helps you feel to motivated to improve your skills.

  • Whether you are looking for a PT to help get you back on track or kick-start your fitness journey, or whether you are interested in a more functional & "natural" way of training, David & the Fitness Renaissance team have you covered! Both myself & my partner have had extremely positive experiences in both one-to-one & group-based environments & can't recommend them highly enough. An hour or two spent on one of their functional group training sessions is not only challenging & engaging but it's also incredibly informative & will leave you looking at your training in an entirely new light. Give it a go!!

  • I have worked with David for nearly three years and still loving it! He is really good at being both supportive and challenging. He brings new ideas to our sessions quite often from his own learning and self-development and makes them relevant to me. I am much fitter and stronger than I was three years' ago and looking forward to the next three years.

  • I have had a few personal trainers in the past but David really did take it to the next level. Very professional and made it easy for me to understand, not only how to do it in the right way, but why we were doing a particular routine. I also felt that he provided me with all the tools and skills I needed to then continue on my own, however the ongoing motivation, support and measurement was invaluable.

    thumb Anthony Hyde
  • I trained with David for several months to help prepare me for a skiing trip. David was patient and considered, ensuring I focussed on the right program to develop my strength in line with my specific needs. I was totally at ease with him and trusted his advice and guidance.

My background is in ‘talking therapies’ including short term counselling, CBT as well as longer-term psychotherapy. I am also a Chinese medicine practitioner specialising in Acupuncture. My practice experience includes working with people from high achieving business and sports backgrounds. I aim to focus my expertise on providing a beneficial and patient responsive service.

Having first trained as a sports massage therapist Peter is very comfortable dealing with diverse injuries and musculoskeletal concerns, but having recently completed two years of postgraduate training in Women’s Health Osteopathy at the Molinari Institute of Health, he has a special interest in all aspects of women’s health. The two-year training also encompassed many elements of men’s health.

Peter appreciates that whilst treatment can sometimes be challenging, the patient remains fully informed about what is being done and where possible why the problem exists. Your healthcare is a partnership, practitioner and client working together to be better.

    1. What do you love most about Nutritional Therapy?

I love being a health detective. I love getting to the root cause of the health issues as so often there are many layers to a person and why they are in the situation they are in. It’s such a buzz when people improve their health from advice you have given them. Part of my job is to give them the advice they need, but at the same time, explaining to them about biology and physiology. This empowers my clients to support themselves better and understand the signals their body gives them.

    2. How do you tailor your service to each client?

I tailor everything to each client, as there is no ‘size fit all’. The protocol is designed depending on where they are in their journey, how much time they have to dedicate to their new lifestyle, and how open to they are to change their habits. I look at each client as a whole so it’s important to take in all of these aspects when designing a protocol, as you want them to succeed.

    3. What is your favourite thing about what you do & why?

One of my passions is debunking health and food ‘myths’ that are rife in the media and show clients that food and health doesn’t need to be complicated or stressful. It’s really satisfying when clients (re)discover foods they thought were (in their minds) on the ‘bad’ list that they now enjoy and make them feel great.
